Last month, James Rispoli (#71) didn’t have a ride in American Flat Track for 2020, but that just changed. Latus Motors Racing announced they signed Rispoli to ride aboard a Harley-Davidson XG750R – the same bike he put on the podium multiple times last season. And this new partnership pairs together a rider and team that have both enjoyed racing success.
In 2019, Rispoli left a decade of chasing roadracing championships and returned to his dirt track roots. He scored four AFT Production Twins podiums, putting Harley-Davidson on the box throughout the season.
George Latus’ Latus Motors Racing, also has a long history on dirt, earning accolades in the mid-2000s. The team also served as the title sponsor for 2000 Grand National Champion Joe Kopp, who’s returning to Latus Motors Racing as team manager.
Rispoli is looking to capitalize on the 2019 season while establishing Latus as a serious contender “by fighting for podiums, wins, and a championship. [This] shows how confident George Latus is … in putting Harley at the front,” Rispoli said.
