West Coast Thunder is hitting the streets for the 17th year. Upwards of 7500 motorcyclists roll through Riverside, California each year to observe tradition and honor our nation’s heroes with a remembrance ceremony at Riverside National Cemetery. The ride will take place on Memorial Day, May 30.

West Coast Thunder is partnering with Vision2Victory in a program to replace registration packet event pins with dog tags of military members lost in action since the Viet Nam War era. These dog tags will all be randomly picked. The dog tags will include chains to wear or put on bikes to raise awareness for the Ride With A Hero campaign.

Riders can research their heroes on the website rearareasupport.org to discover more about them. Ride With A Hero encourages people to become a friend to the family of these men or women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms, let them know that their loved one is not forgotten.

This year promises to be a memorable one with amazing performances by Frankie Ballard, as well as SouthBound and Company: A Tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Frynds. West Coast Thunder has also teamed up with Riverside Harley-Davidson to give one lucky rider a big win with a giveaway for a 2016 Harley-Davidson XL883N Iron.

Sponsors this year include Williamson, Rindge and Hole Family Foundation, Law Tigers, Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys, the City of Riverside and more.

This prolific ride has raised funds for the Riverside National Cemetery Support Committee and supported such projects as the construction of the National POW/MIA Memorial (dedicated in 2005), and repairs to the Medal of Honor Memorial. It has also provided financial support to the RNC Memorial Honor Detail and funding each July for the Concert for Heroes.
