A good-time gathering

Waynesboro, Tenn., May 31–June 3—Tropical Storm Alberto tried to damped the spirits of the American Rebel Rendezvous, but was unsuccessful! With the rain that moved through the area Wednesday night, the night before the rally started, some were scared off and those that chose not to make the trip really missed out on a good time.

Promotor Stan Chiras started the American Rebel events last fall on his property after another event had wanted to book the property and then did not meet the requirements he had set for them in their contract. American Rebel Bike Week was born and Stan allowed over 600 people who had pur-chased tickets to the other event to stay for free on his property and even provided entertainment.

American Rebel Rendezvous 2018

American Rebel Rendezvous proved to be a fun time for all of those who stuck it out and braved the weather. Located in the beautiful hills just outside of Waynesboro, Tennessee, the grounds included a very nice camping space, a wonderful field for all the activities and if you fol-lowed the road past the back bar you would end up at the river.

The entertainment line-up was the perfect amount of music and thrill! The party started off Thursday night with Jasmine Cain rocking the stage. Friday night, Bag Lady Sue had the crowd in stitches with her comedy act and Wayland kept the party going. Saturday started off with Outlaw County, then Sleep With Cheryl hypnotized willing participants. Tim Montana and the Shrednecks closed out the night on the main stage. Circus Una wowed the crowd with their motorcycle trapeze on the highwire several times throughout the weekend and got the crowd revved up by making a guest appearance in the dunk tank. The rally was emceed by Pipes, who is well known throughout the midwest.

Saturday afternoon provided perfect weather for everyone’s favorite, the bike games! It all started off with the slow race, which was very challenging as the field went downhill. Next was Road Kill, which was the first time I had seen this one. The passenger was given a large fishing net and the object was to pick up as many beavers as possible. This was challenging for both rider and passenger as the passenger had to keep all the animals until the end. Honey I’m Home was a very entertaining game; the couple started out making out on the couch and the men had their pants down around their ankles when the emcee yelled, “Honey I’m Home!” They had to jump up, pull up and fasten their pants, crawl through a window, push their bike several feet before starting it and then race to the fin-ish line. There was also a tire toss where both men and women competed. The last game of the day involved beer through the pant leg. The lady had to push a full beer through the man’s pant leg from the bottom and pull it out through the waist without any help from the man, then had to chug the beer. First one done wins. Skinny jeans definitely would be a hindrance in this game! Saturday night ended with a party at the back bar, which included karaoke and a large bonfire.

All in all the American Rebel Rendezvous delivered what it promised: great music, biker games, cold beer and lots of fun. The campground area was nice and clean, and there were shaded areas and electric hookups available. The stage and game area was across the way, so if you wanted to quietly hang out at your campsite you could. Plus the area is nestled in the hills of Tennessee and the winding roads make for some beautiful riding.

The next American Rebel event, “Hogwild,” will be held September 26–30 this year. Chiras is currently working with a few bands including one big-name band. He states the venue will be open up to four days early for early-bird camping for those who want to come down and take advantage of the beautiful fall riding in the area.
