Sounding off
Fresh off the shelves of Samson Motorcycle Products is their latest creation, the Decibel Killer Mufflers. These twin canisters comply with the federally mandated decibel ratings at idle but then, when the throttle is cracked, are fully capable of providing a deep and rich resonance to reinforce your bad-boy attitude. The DB Killers are available with removable and interchangeable baffles and a variety of chrome end caps, resulting in a multitude of options. They are a direct replacement for OEM Harley mufflers from 1995–2011 H-D dressers and Road Kings and start at $599.95.

The fire down below
There’s nothing better than toasty buns on a wintry day—especially when they’re your personal buns. With the new Heated Touring Seat by Mustang, convenient posterior warmth is just a toggle away with dual zone, high/low settings for both the rider and passenger. Illuminated switches are easily accessible by the riders while a wiring harness plugs into the accessory port in front of the battery on 2008–present Harley touring models, eliminating any additional controllers or switches. Two versions are available: the Standard Touring featuring a 17″ wide front bucket with a 14″ passenger seat, and the Super Touring offering a 19″ wide front panel that positions the driver 1 3/4″ further back than a stock seat. An optional driver backrest is also available. With prices starting at $749, the Heated Touring Seat fits Road Kings, FLTR, FLHT and FLHX Street Glide models.

A brighter idea
On a bike in traffic, one of your best defenses against brain-dead cagers is visibility. And in this day of advanced technology, nothing beats LED science (light-emitting diode). LEDs emit photons in an effect called electroluminescence and present many advantages over antiquated incandescent bulbs, including lower energy consumption, longer life, improved durability and reliability, and, especially, brighter illumination. These new LED Two Circuit Rear Turn Signal Inserts by Küryakyn replace the stock dual circuit lights on the rear of late FL, FX and XL models. Carrying a MSRP of $124.99 for a pair, they provide both low “run” and high “brake/turn signal” intensities and come with either a red or smoked lens. Check for exact fitment.

Pump up the volume
Hawg Wired only produces one line of motorcycle equipment—high fidelity audio. Their latest is the SixPack amplifier and speaker system. Cranking out 100 watts RMS per channel, their RS edition PSC1502 amp has a 33 percent increase in power over the company’s earlier version. All that juice is then tied into a set of ZX Series 6 1/2″ diameter speakers that offer a 160-percent larger cone when compared to the company’s previous DX series. These speakers also feature a tight 12db per octave crossover and Hawg Wired’s signature bridge-mounted component tweeter resulting in a louder, cleaner and sharper sound perception. Damn Dzus
Anyone running a late-model Harley bagger has lost them. Whether they ended up buried under a pile of gear in the bag or, much worse, lost in the front yard after completing a bike wash, those saddlebag cam-lock studs can be evasive little critters. After repeated trips to the dealership for replacements, the Shaggy Dog devised an alternative to this constant lost-and-found dilemma, the Saddlebag Stud Tether. Selling at $9 for a set of four, the Stud Tether uses a nylon-braided cable of fishing net repair line with a clip on one end connected to the Dzus fastener. The other end is secured to a patch of removable, self-adhesive Velcro that attaches to the inside shell of the saddlebag. Four tight-fitting O-rings are also included that slip on behind the flat washer to also eliminate that item’s disappearance—a simple fix to a common problem.

Drag Specialties has updated their road-proven backrest and pouch assembly with the Convertible Backrest with Built-In Seat Rain Cover. Fitting all Drag Specialties Double Bucket or Low Profile Touring Seats with EZ Glide I or EZ Glide II systems, a denier polyester fabric rain cover that has received the urethane coating treatment is housed inside the backrest pocket compartment. The Rain Cover is secured inside the pouch at two points, making removal for cleaning a “snap.” The backrest pad measures 10″ wide x 7 1/2″ tall and features solar-reflective leather on the contact areas and automotive-grade vinyl on the side panels and the pouch. It can be mounted in either the driver or passenger’s seating area and has three adjustable positions. Suggested retail is $229.95.

Keeping your cool
A big-inch V-Twin motor comes with its share of problems—one being that high performance equals higher operating temperatures. JIMS and Cornerstone Metrology have teamed up to produce the innovative Cam Cover Heat Sink to ease such temperature-related woes. This insert replaces the OEM cam cover and uses a “fin pack” design to assist in heat dissipation. Using existing hardware, the unit installs in just a few minutes and is an ideal form of good-looking thermal management. Manufactured from aluminum, it comes either chrome-plated or raw with an MSRP ranging from $74.10 to $98.50, depending on the finish.

In a pinch
Custom Cycle Engineering has been firmly entrenched in the H-D aftermarket since 1967. It was then when they developed their billet steel custom triple clamps, one of the first in the industry. And while they have always concentrated on the custom market, their new 41mm Wide Glide Triple Trees for FLH touring models is a departure from the norm that provides not only a quality product but also offers some sound improvements. This new billet aluminum piece incorporates a pinch-bolt design (similar to the OEM bottom triple tree) that offers 2 1/4″ of clamping stability to the upper section. CCE states that it dramatically improves handling and tracking. And since the fork tubes are actively engaged, custom-length fork tubes are included in the kit to maintain stock ride height. Available for bikes from 1984 to the present, they come with show-chrome tubes for $775 or hard-chrome tubes for $845.
