The most all-American form of motorcycle racing is no doubt dirt track. Born on horse racing tracks a century ago, man and machine still duel it out to this day for the podium finish. But from 1954 to 1985, winning the GNC called for extreme talent. These were the glory days when riders had to be masters of the mile, half-mile, the short track and TT, but also earn road-racing points to lock up the Grand National Championship. The Dirt Track Heroes exhibit will focus on this period, but also cover dynamic bikes and riders up into the 1990′s.

The Dirt Track Heroes exhibit will be completed in mid-May 2013, and will be dedicated June 8, as part of the Vintage Rally 2013, taking place on June 8 – 9, 2013.
