Removing the heel shifter from a Harley bagger is a common practice, especially among the big-foots among us. The most common procedure is to remove it and move the toe shifter back into its place on the spline—an approach that leaves things looking unfinished, as well as leaving the spline shaft end sticking out where you can inadvertently catch your boot on it. Both the aesthetic and functional drawbacks presented are now an easy fix with the Heel Shift Eliminator for FLs and Softails from Pingel Enterprise. This $37.10 unit is a nicely turned billet aluminum spacer that perfectly fills the void left when the heel shifter is removed. Installation is obviously a cinch.
