The Hoka Hey Challenge 2011 that began on August 5 on Mesa, Arizona, saw the first rider cross the finish line in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on August 19, with other challengers finishing over the following days. The final validation of the winners was announced October 8 during the annual Chester’s H-D Rocktoberfest event at the Mesa dealership. Hoka Hey organizers stated that based on the data provided by US Fleet Tracking combined with the results of mandatory polygraph examinations, the 11 riders that finished within the predetermined timeframe would not be awarded any prize money. However, an offer was made to provide some assistance for the expenses incurred for travel for the polygraph exams. The participants were then congratulated for winning the event and acknowledged for being the greatest riders in the world.
