HOLLISTER, CALIF., JAN. 8–The Hollister City Council voted Monday evening to bring back the infamous Hollister Motorcycle Rally for 2013. The dates for this year’s rally, which has not taken place in Hollister since 2008, will be Friday and Saturday, July 5-6.
Local newspapers report that city officials also expect a steep drop in the security bills, compared to the Hollister events of the past. Estimated costs for law enforcement for a 2013 rally are $113,400, which represents a one-third reduction in law enforcement.
According to reports, the City Council has hired on North Carolina-based Worldwide Dynamics as the event’s manager.
Check back to in the coming days for more information as it becomes available.
Hollister is coming back! That’s great.Rally 2013!
I went to 2008 and it was just a big t-shirt swap meet that you rode your bike to. “Bike” parking was 2 – 3 blocks AWAY from the venue area. The City Council, Police and the business community made it very clear that bikers were not welcomed. I will not waste my time or money there again. There enough “biker” friendly gatherings that appreciate your business and want you to have a good time.
Bill,
I understand where you are coming from, and can respect you waiting a year before returning. But I truly believe this year’s rally and future rallies will be back to the Hollister Rally of the past…welcome to bikers and a fun atmosphere. It’s a whole new city council and a completely different promoter.

I had a great time at the Rally this year. Bolado Park was dead however. That was the official camp site with vendors, bands, etc. Needs to be resurrected for sure next year!
