Center Hill, Florida (May 20, 2020) – This Memorial Day weekend, for the 3rd year in a row, Travelers Rest Speedway in Travelers Rest South Carolina will host the “Thunder on the Mountain” on its high banked clay 3/8th mile oval. Flat Track Futures, an amateur flat track series managed by Professional racer Johnny Lewis, teams up with Travelers Rest Speedway to put on this 2-day event-filled weekend of racing with youth, amateur, vet, and Expert/Pro riders from across the country.

Flat Track Futures is excited to announce two 2020 official partners, including Spectro Performance Oils. Spectro Oils is not only the official oils of the series, but also the title sponsor of the Thunder on the Mountain 3 event – naming it the “Spectro Oils Thunder on the Mountain 3” as stated above. Sunoco Race Fuels also partners with Flat Track Futures for 2020 as the official race fuel of the series – bringing two great well-known partners into 2020 for the first race of the season.

With the gap in between now and the first race of the professional series, this weekend looks to draw teams such as Vance and Hines Harley-Davidson, Indian Motorcycles, Roof Systems of Dallas Texas and HCRR supported teams, Estenson Racing Yamaha, RMR Honda, Waters KTM, and more in for the Expert/Pro classes. A $14,000 pro purse, set over two days, is up for grabs – provided by Travelers Rest Speedway, Roof Systems of Dallas Texas/ HCRR, Cherokee Cycles. An additional $5000+ in contingencies for both amateur and Expert/Pro Classes from American Honda & Tucker Powersports VTwin USA is also available to racers.

“I couldn’t be more excited to get this event going. My goal when starting Flat Track Futures was to get these youth and amateurs recognized by the industry and help grow the sport to a new level. Last year I was able to bring Dunlop Racing Tires in and help develop the Team Dunlop Flat Track Elite program which provided 8 amateur riders with full tire support for the 2020 season.

This year we join with companies like Spectro Oils and Sunoco Race Fuels and now we have all the factory teams, team managers, sponsors, and more planning to attend this weekend that could potentially see the future of the sport right in front of them all weekend long. It’s exactly what I envisioned and more with Flat Track Futures”, stated Flat Track Futures Johnny Lewis.

Adding to the show will be a pit reporting live feed with Fox Sports’ and NBC Sports’, Kristen Beat. This live feed will take place on the Flat Track Futures Facebook page www.facebook.com/flattrackfutures. It will include interviews with youth to professional riders, updates on the 2020 extended off season, and race reports during the event.

Racing will kick off Saturday at 6pm with the Flat Track Futures youth classes plus the Class of 79’ Charity Bultaco Astro Cup, followed by The Tucker Powersports VTwin USA Hooligan class, the Roof Systems of Dallas Texas/ HCRR Expert/ Pro Twins, Cherokee Cycles Open Expert/Pro, 450 Expert Production, 250 Amateur, Open Amateur, and the Vet 30+.

The Spectro Oils Thunder on the Mountain 3 will also be live streamed with Pit Row TV starting Saturday at 4pm with the opening practice sessions. Visit www.pitrow.tv to check out the pay per view packages for the weekend.

Selective classes including the Expert/Pro, Hooligan, and select amateur classes will run transponders. Riders, crew, and fans will be able to view live lap by lap times/results with the Race Monitor app for those chosen races.

Notable additional support for the Spectro Oils Thunder on the Mountain 3 event are Boswell Hooligan Racing Team, Goon Glass and Rubber, and Scotty Taylor.
