As Indian Motorcycle enters its next chapter after being bought by private equity firm Carolwood LP, the brand has announced the signing of a seven-year lease for a new global headquarters in Golden Valley, Minnesota.

As part of the brand acquisition, Indian retained its manufacturing facility in Spirit Lake, Iowa, as well as another facility in Monticello, Minnesota, that handles aluminum casting and milling. All overseas facilities are to be shut down and all manufacturing is to move to America – one of new CEO Mike Kennedy’s four key strategies.

Mike Kennedy shared his goals for Indian Motorcycle and answered questions in a press briefing on Feb. 9.

The new headquarters is the 37,832-square-foot Golden Valley Building II. Indian says this building will be “a central hub for global leadership, operations, and brand development, with integrated industrial space that supports product development, prototyping, and operational alignment.”

“This new global headquarters represents an exciting next step for Indian Motorcycle,” said Mike Kennedy, CEO of Indian Motorcycle. “As we begin this new chapter, we are proud to remain in Minnesota — a state that has played an important role in our journey — and to continue building a future focused on innovation, growth, and delivering exceptional products to riders around the world.”

In the search for the new headquarters, Indian was represented by Willow Peak. Golden Valley Building II is owned by Link Logistics, and the landlord was represented in the deal by Cushman & Wakefield.

“Indian Motorcycle is an iconic American brand, and we are thrilled they chose to remain and reinvest in the Twin Cities market,” said Erin Fitzgerald, founder and CEO of Willow Peak. “This headquarters reflects a forward-looking commitment to innovation, talent, and long-term growth in the region. It was a privilege to support Indian through a strategic and thoughtful site selection process, and we are proud to help companies make real estate decisions that strengthen both their business and the communities they operate in.”
