Preparing to scoot out of town for the day, recently I found myself trying to cram just a couple of necessities into my jacket pockets since I’d already used up every little nook and cranny of space in my Street Glide’s hard bags. To be honest, I don’t much care for having to rearrange all my crap every time I want to take off for a short jaunt, and I discovered the perfect alternative in Harley-Davidson’s Premium Touring Luggage Collection’s Day Bag.

The compact bag comes with a spandex panel that slips over the sissy bar and cinches securely with the provided nylon straps that make for a simple, no-fuss install and release when arriving at ride’s end. The convenient handle at the top of the bag makes it easy to carry into the hotel or garage and, and I must say, it’s pretty smart looking.

Besides the tidy appearance, it’s the perfect size for cramming in a sweatshirt, pair of leathers or even paperwork for transport to the office. The end pouches are great for toiletries or extra gloves, bandanas, etc. and the bag is really all you need for either a day trip or a weekend getaway’s worth of stuff. I even managed to stash a camera and jammies in with my warm gear.

After a ride that included repeated stops to take pictures, adjust clothing for temperature changes and visit with friends, I realized I never needed to dig around in my saddlebags at all with this luggage stashed on my seat. The zippered mesh pocket inside kept all the tiny bits in place and, in case of soggy weather, there’s even a pouch that can be slipped over the already water-resistant exterior of the smartly adorned bag.

H-D touts this luggage as good for the daily commuter, but I think it’s the perfect grab-n-go solution for a quick and easy getaway for any ride—whether it be to the office, a day out with friends or an overnight trip.
