Previously known as The Quail Motorcycle Gathering, the swanky event held in Carmel, California has been rebranded as The Quail Motofest. The 2025 event will take place on Saturday, May 17, and today the featured classes have been announced.
The Quail Golf Club will again host a family-friendly gathering that will celebrate life on two wheels with more than 200 vintage and modern bikes on display, as well as live music, lifestyle vendors, a dedicated children’s area, and diverse food and beverage options in a festival-like atmosphere.
Three featured classes will recognize significant motorcycle brands and anniversaries: Italian Innovation by Bimota, a Tribute to aftermarket supplier and racing legend Yoshimura, plus Celebrating 45 Years of the BMW GS adventure-tourer. The Quail MotoFest will also include 10 traditional classes, including American, British, Italian, Other European, Japanese, Antique, Custom/Modified, Choppers, Competition On Road, and Competition Off Road.
“Over the last 15 years, The Quail MotoFest has become an annual staple for motorcycle fans on the West Coast,” said Courtney Ferrante, director of The Peninsula Signature Events, The Quail. “The reimagined event combines exceptional and rare motorcycles coupled with something for the entire family to enjoy.”

Engineering excellence will take the spotlight with the featured Bimota class. Globally recognized for its advanced engineering, Bimota gained worldwide notoriety in the 1970s through the ’90s by creating exotic sportbikes powered by engines from motorcycle manufacturers like Suzuki, Honda, Ducati, and Kawasaki.
The Tribute to Yoshimura class will highlight Yoshimura’s longstanding dedication to high-performance motorcycles and racing. Founded by Hideo “Pops” Yoshimura in 1954, the company is world-renowned for engine tuning and motorcycle parts, including aftermarket exhausts. Yoshimura Suzuki race teams have won more than 30 AMA, WORCS, and GNCC titles.
For 45 years, BMW’s GS models have been known for their versatility and off-road capabilities, creating the adventure-touring category that is the hottest class currently on the market. The GS name comes from the German phrase Gelände/Straße, meaning “terrain/street,” and BMW continues to define the adventure-touring segment.
The festivities get underway with The Quail Ride on Friday, May 16. Participants will depart from The Quail Golf Club on a 100-mile journey through the backroads of the stunning Monterey Peninsula, concluding with parade laps around WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, as well as lunch and dinner with fellow enthusiasts. Vintage and modern motorcycles are welcome, but spots are limited.
Tickets to The Quail MotoFest will be available in January 2025 at a price yet to be announced, and organizers are currently accepting entrant applications for the event.
