MILWAUKEE, WISC., May 30—The Harley-Davidson Museum is providing a unique way for enthusiasts and visitors to add their own message to its “Living the Legend” Rivet Wall. In honor of Harley-Davidson’s 110th anniversary, the Museum launched a commemorative 110th rivet that is available throughout the year and can be customized with a personal message. All rivets purchased by June 15 will be engraved and installed at the Harley-Davidson Museum in time for the 110th Anniversary Celebration in Milwaukee over Labor Day weekend. The Rivet Wall is a focal point of the Harley-Davidson Museum’s 20-acre campus and currently displays personal milestones and memories on more than 4,000 rivets.
“Every rider and Harley-Davidson enthusiast has a special bond to our brand,” said Bill Davidson, vice president of the Harley-Davidson Museum. “The ‘Living the Legend’ rivet provides a way to memorialize these experiences, which are then placed permanently on the Rivet Wall at the Harley-Davidson Museum.”
The “Living the Legend” rivets are made of a super strong, electro-polished stainless steel and are available in three- and six-inch sizes. An online visualization tool helps people create and review their message prior to it being manufactured. The 3-inch rivet is $250 and includes three lines of copy, the etching, and installation of the rivet at the Museum. There is also a larger six-inch version for $1,500 that includes etching and installation, and provides space for four lines of text. All rivets are on a distinctive, curved iron wall outside of the Harley-Davidson Museum.
