As part of the company’s Back to the Bricks strategy and under direction of new CEO Artie Starrs, Harley-Davidson has announced the return of Revolution Max production to the U.S.
Production of the Revolution Max platforms (including the Pan America, Sportster S, and Nightster models) was moved to Thailand in 2024. This move back to American shores will include machining, powertrain assembly, painting, and final vehicle assembly work. Harley-Davidson expects the move to be completed in time for the start of the 2028 model year production. It also expects to manufacture over 100,000 motorcycles in its York, Pennsylvania, facility in 2027.
The liquid-cooled Revolution Max powertrain was first unveiled in 2018 for use in the Pan America adventure bike and the Bronx streetfighter, the latter of which never entered production. The Revolution Max 1250 (76.4ci) can be found in the Sportster S, Pan America 1250 Special, Pan American 1250 ST, Pan American 1250 Limited, and CVO Pan America. The Revolution Max 975 (59.5ci) is used in the Nightster and Nightster Special.

Harley-Davidson claims that the move will support skilled union jobs and cites “the Trump Administration’s changes to U.S. trade policy, combined with shifts in the global trade environment” as factors that “have created new opportunities for companies to invest in domestic manufacturing.” Revolution Max production will now take place between the company’s facilities in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

NOW time for Indian to bring the assembly of US bound motorcycle back from Vietnam and Poland. while they claim all bike made in sort lake are for the US market they DO NOT Claim all us market bikes are made in the US. Or do the big mouths harassing HD turn a blind eye to Indian. (and the possibility Indian through marketing forms are paying these big mouths.
