AMCA Member Bikes to Highlight 36th Americade


Lake Georga, N.Y., Mar. 27—Members of the AMCA are being invited to showcase their motorcycles and explain the benefits of club membership at Lake George this June. AMCA participants will receive free entry for themselves and spouses to many events. Awards and people’s choice judging will be included. Come join the fun and let your piece of motorcycle history be seen and appreciated.
About Americade: Americade attracts up to 80,000 serious motorcycle riders and passengers along with family and friends. It’s a family oriented event that couples and young children are attracted on the weekend. Most of the many serious tourers arrive Monday & Tuesday of Americade Week.
Here are some of the details about the display:
  • The Vintage Garage Display area is located at adjacent to Americade’s HQ at Fort William Henry next to the factory displays of Honda, Indian, BMW, etc.
  • The display area is a professionally installed and anchored tent with full side curtains.
  • The tent provides 24/7 paid security and weather protection from noon Monday June 5 through 3 pm Saturday June 9.
  • Only 30-35 motorcycles will be able to take advantage of exhibiting in 2018.
  • AMCA members will have the responsibility for placing and arranging their motorcycles in the secured, paved and covered area.
All participants and spouses will receive general passes for the duration of the event, plus specific incentives to be chosen by the exhibitor (rides, dinners, etc.) worth at least $278. If members bring more than one motorcycle, the benefits increase as noted:
1 Motorcycle Displayed = 2 Premium Packages (a $278 value), including week-long passes for the Americade HQ (factory demos, shows, rider education and rider training), all week access to the Americade Expo (200,000+ sq feet of vendors), access to the Friday Night Celebration (awards, dessert, music, fireworks), and a choice of a Guided and catered motorcycle ride, or a dinner cruise on Lake George, or an elegant dinner on the shore. AMCA participants and their spouse will receive 2 $20 vouchers to use at the official Americade merchandise tent & 2 comedy show tickets for the very popular and always sold-out Saturday night show.
2-3 Motorcycles Displayed = A $318 value. Includes all of the above, plus 2 Poker Run tickets & 2 Amazing Ride tickets.
Americade will award a Vintage People’s Choice award to one of the motorcycles on display.
Loading and unloading from trailers will be allowed adjacent to the display tent on Monday, June 4th and Saturday, June 9th after 3 pm at the display. On other days, access to the display tent may be greater, but not more than 400 feet. Tow vehicle and trailer parking will be available onsite.
Exhibitors are expected to assist in staffing the exhibition tent, and a minimum of 2 blocks of 3 hours of volunteering time is requested to ensure equity of effort among participants for staffing the display. Many hands make light the work.
Motorcycle(s) are expected to be on display the duration of the event, however participants will be able to ride & use their motorcycles at all times with the provision that they be returned back to the display after use.
There will be a demonstration of starting engines on the evening of Thursday, June 7 at 7:30pm in the demo area. This demonstration will include a few laps of the demo area followed by a static display of the bikes. This demonstration will be of 30-35 minutes duration.
The AMCA organizers will have until May 1 to secure enough commitments to fill the available space of 30-35 motorcycles.
The AMCA will also have a National presence at the Vintage Display. The AMCA will furnish its own banners, signs, placards, etc. Restroom facilities are available within 400 feet. Food and lodging are available immediately nearby but it’s not too early to begin planning and make reservations. The deadline to sign up is April 15.
