Edelweiss Pearls of the Adriatic Tour
A road sign you won’t see in Sturgis!

Millions of plans were thwarted by the Covid pandemic, but thankfully we’ve crawled out of our bunkers and are fully primed to experience the fun activities that make life worth living.

It’s difficult to imagine a better way for a rider to celebrate life than to experience the joy and wonder of piloting a motorcycle around one of the most beautiful regions in Europe. The Balkans is an undiscovered gem sitting across the Adriatic Sea from Italy’s east coast, and we’re joining our friends at Edelweiss Bike Travel to discover its beauty from the seat of a Harley-Davidson this coming autumn.

Yep, this all-Harley ride will take in the highlights of the Adriatic’s eastern coastline, a mashup of modern and ancient times through Croatia, Montenegro, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The tour begins in Split, Croatia, next to Emperor Diocletian’s amazing palace, then heads south to link up with a ferry to Hvar, the lavender island.

The next day will bring us to Dubrovnik, a.k.a. the “Pearl of the Adriatic,” a once powerful city-republic with a breathtaking old town. Then on to Montenegro, a tiny country formerly part of Yugoslavia. Further south along the coast is the Bay of Kotor, where there’ll be a day to explore the historic sites in the town that dates back more than 2,000 years.

Then we’ll head northward and inland along hilly terrain and into Bosnia-Herzegovina, where European culture meets the Byzantine. The ride ends up at Mostar and the city’s gorgeous Old Bridge, originally built in the 1500s and rebuilt in 2004 after its destruction during the 1993 Bosnian war.

The following day will take us northwest and back into Croatia, passing the magnificent Krka National Park. We’ll end up in Zadar for an overnight stay, and then enjoy another rest day to explore the local sights, including the spectacular Krka waterfalls. Finally, one more day of riding along the coast back to Split.

Come with us across the pond to check out natural beauty like this.

The tour begins on September 29 and lasts 10 days, with eight riding days, ending on October 8, 2022. The area is blessed with a mild climate – average daytime temperatures in September are in the high 70s. Conveniently, riders don’t have to worry about packing luggage on their bikes, as it will be transported by Edelweiss support vehicles. You’ll have your choice of a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide, Road King, Sport Glide, or Pan America.

All this excitement and beauty can be yours for $5,920, plus airfare. That’s not exactly cheap, but you’ll come away from this ride with memories that will last as long as you do. Check out the trip via the link below, and sign up to join Thunder Press on a trip of a lifetime!
