Scenic motorcycle tour benefits the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation

Moorpark, Calif., Oct. 31—The Fifth Invitational Why We Ride to the Quail charity trek will take place May 2, 3 and 4. The ride begins in historic Moorpark through the lemon groves of Ventura county and vineyards stopping for lunch at the historic Cold Springs Tavern then going all the way to picturesque Pismo Beach, California, the first day. The second day heads up the Pacific Coast Highway following some of the most talked-about stretch of coastal road, making a stop to see the elephant seals and then through Big Sur, and arriving in the enchanted Carmel Valley in time for The Quail Motorcycle Gathering. All proceeds go to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

“The last four years have been inspiring,” said Bryan Carroll, producer of Why We Ride Films, organizers of the event. “We have seen new riders every year but also a core of people who returned. Riders came from multiple states and countries as far away as Mexico and India.”

Riders of all backgrounds from new riders to industry veterans all share a common love of motorcycle riding have participated in the past. New for this year, being the celebratory fifth year, is an extended ride up the PCH, catered barbecue in Big Sur along the river and staying at the Carmel Mission Inn.

Motorcyclists are always up for supporting a good cause, and the diversity of past sponsors and participants really illustrates how the Hollywood, motorcycling and other communities have united to benefit those in need, namely children with serious medical issues. The ride has consistently doubled its raise every year, and this type of growth in funds raised is expected again this year.

Participants in the charity ride enjoy a bevy of perks (in addition to the awesome ride), including cocktails and vittles at the WWR Riders Dinner, gift bags, special guest speakers and VIP access to The Quail Motorcycle Gathering, including a private ride to the event, exclusive parking and private lounge access.

“This is a rider’s ride,” said Bryan Carroll. “We had a lot of riders from a variety of backgrounds, and everyone really came together, rode hard and bonded. We’re looking to build on that this year, celebrating the fifth year.”

The short documentary about the ride has been chosen to screen at the Rome Motorcycle Festival in November and is continuing to raise funds year round on our GoFund Me page or you can watch the trailer here.

Of course, none of this would be possible without great sponsorship. Last year’s list of sponsors topped 25, and this year’s array for the Fifth Invitational WHY WE RIDE to The Quail is shaping up, including Refuse Specialists, Indian Motorcycle, MotoDoffo Wines, KlockWerks, D73 Leathers, Paul Yaffe’s Bagger Nation, Aerial Vuz, Formosa Group, eGrafx, Motorcycle Movers Los Angeless, Simi Valley Cycles, Simi Valley Harley-Davidson and idPlatforms, with many more in the works. There are a few openings left for sponsorship, and anyone interested can contact ken@riseaboveconsulting.com.
