The 12th annual The Quail Motorcycle Gathering celebrates the evolution of two-wheeled transportation with more than 350 vintage and modern motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles on display on the lush golf course grasses of Quail Lodge & Golf Club, in Carmel, California, May 14, 2022.
Featured classes include Harley-Davidson XR-750, BMW /5 Series, Two Strokes “Braaap”, mini bikes | BIG FUN, and Hot Rods & Classic Cars. The Quail’s traditional classes encompass Antique, American, British, Other European, Japanese, Competition On/Off-Road, Custom/Modified, and Choppers.
Roland Sands will be the event’s ”Legend of the Sport” honoree. His designs have played a role in popularizing high-performance custom V-Twins, and his Roland Sands Design operations provide everything from parts to apparel. His designs have earned three V-Twin Wheel Design of the Year awards, a Biker Build-Off championship on the Discovery Channel, and he was the 2018 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Grand Marshal.
The Quail Motorcycle Gathering also features manufacturers showcasing their newest bikes, lifestyle and retail exhibitors, gourmet lunch options, local wines and brews, and a family-friendly kid’s area provided by a local non-profit, the Monterey Youth Museum.
Another highlight of the event is The Quail Ride, departing from Quail Lodge on Friday, May 13. It’s an entertaining 100-mile trip through the backroads of the renowned Monterey Peninsula, and it features the chance to take a lap or two around the world-famous WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, plus a mid-day lunch, an evening dinner, admission to the show, and other bennies for the $450 fee.
