November 25, Three Rivers, MA—Mustang Motorcycle Products LLC has announced a Custom Seat Program for 2014 that will offer buyers the opportunity to customize the seat online prior to purchase. A full array of colorful options and styles will be introduced to the media at the Long Beach Convention Center as part of Mustang’s display at the International Motorcycle Show December 6-8. Like Henry Ford and the original Model A, you could have your Mustang seat in any color you wanted, so long as it was black. All that changes for 2014!

“In a radical departure from long-standing Mustang tradition, we are now offering custom seats with a selection of different stitch patterns, inlay panels and thread colors to choose from,” says Director of Sales Steve Veltri. “This gives you the opportunity to make your seat as unique as your ride.”

The first step in the automated online seat design process is to pick a stitch pattern: plain, tuck and roll or diamond stitch options are available. Then comes time to pick a color and, as you go through each step, you can see exactly how it will look. There is even a magnifying glass tool that enables you to take a closeup look at the contrasting stitching colors.

“We added distressed brown to the mix last year, but now we have a full spectrum of colors to choose from, including everything from Sky Blue and Burgundy to Goldenrod and Gun Metal,” adds Veltri. “We know that not everyone’s computer monitor is properly color calibrated, so we will be happy to send you a color swatch to confirm it is exactly the shade you want before handcrafting your custom seat.” For you traditionalists, don’t worry, Mustang still offers basic black.

With the endless permutations of stitching options, insert colors and 12 contrasting thread colors, Mustang introduces the custom seat option on three of their most popular models: the Tripper Solo, Tripper Fastback and DayTripper.

“We did a soft launch of the Custom Seat program this summer to fine tune the process and see what customization options needed to be added,” Veltri says. “Now it is ready for the official unveil at the IMS stop in Long Beach.” If you can’t make it to the motorcycle show to see it in person, click on  www.mustangseats.com/custom to tailor your own seat.
