At the end of November, Sturgis Buffalo Chip released the first two names for the 2023 rally’s musical lineup: Styx and REO Speedwagon. Since then, we’ve been waiting for more news about the bands that’ll be performing at the Chip this year.
Today, Buffalo Chip released two more names: George Thorogood and the Destroyers, the kings of “boogie rock’n blues,” and the Southern rock/Americana band Whiskey Myers. Rockers and riders can catch both bands on the stage on Wednesday, August 9. And on January 26, the Chip announced the addition of legendary rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd to its lineup of big-name performers.
The Sturgis Buffalo Chip music festival is a nine-day romp that holds up to its mission of being “The Best Party Anywhere.” Since its start in 1981, Buffalo Chip has featured top-tier artists and entertainment and has become a staple of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. For 2023, the series dates will run August 4-13.
Concerts and entertainment at the Chip are free with campground admission, which ranges from $60 for one day to $300 for nine days. VIP packages are also available and include perks such as free draft beer and buffet dinners, express check-in, social hours with Chip celebrities, and other extras.
Tickets are currently available at Buffalo Chip’s website, and you can also request a band by clicking here.
We’ll continue posting Sturgis news as the dates draw closer, so check back here for more soon.
