Thousand Islands River Run

The Thousand Islands River Run, based in the heart of the Thousand Islands region in Alexandria Bay, New York, is back for its 16th year. The 2023 rally kicks off on Friday, June 23, and goes through June 25.

The Thousand Islands region is an archipelago that comprises more than 1,800 islands that span approximately 50 miles of the St. Lawrence River where it runs between New York and the Canadian border. This region provides plentiful – and beautiful – riding.

In addition to the routes offered in the area, the Thousand Islands River Run includes a custom bike show with bikes from shops throughout New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and Canada, and any bikes are welcome to enter the Ma & Pa Custom Bike Show or Dirtiest Bike Show.

If you’re looking for gear, vendors will be set up in the Pavilion in downtown Alexandria Bay. Other events include the Miss TI River Run contest and a tattoo contest, as well as on-site tats from Empyre Tattoo. Live bands will be playing each day, including performances by the FFOG Band, Cousin Jake, Ear Kandy, Off the Reservation, Double Barrel Blues, Tough Luck, and more.

If you need to take a break from your seat and get on your feet, check out one of the many offerings from Uncle Sam Boat Tours, including a stop at Heart Island to tour Boldt Castle, which was built in 1900 and purchased by the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority in 1977.
