At long last, the movie Fight Valley: Knockaround Girls will be released to the public on July 22! For you MMA fans, the film features female fighters such as Miesha Tate, Holly Holm and Cris Cyborg, and it’s being supported by Nick’s Custom Cycles in Williamstown, New Jersey. Director Rob Hawk lost his mother to breast cancer when he was very young, so he will donate a percentage of the film’s proceeds to the Fight Like a Girl Foundation to help save moms battling breast cancer. Fight Valley will be available On Demand and for a list of the theaters in which it will open, check out fightvalley.com… THUNDER PRESS contributor Betsy “Gypsy” Lister wrote, as an adjunct to her Boston Wounded Vets Run coverage in the July issue, “Well, it’s happened! This event has now raised the bar for motorcycling events for sure. The Donald J. Trump Foundation has donated $75,000 to the New England Wounded Veterans, Inc. DBA The Boston Wounded Vets Run. The Donald wrote, in part, ‘I am very proud to make this donation to your organization for the wonderful service you provide to our nation’s veterans. Your efforts have made a significant difference to our heroes and their families on many levels—your concern and care has been phenomenal. I would like to thank you for your extraordinary work!’ This puts this event in a category that’s going to be difficult to surpass!”… Last month I wrote about attending Rock and Ride for the Cure in New Hope, Pennsylvania. This year’s event was a fundraiser for the Pancreas Center at the Columbia University Medical Center in memory of Bruce Panfil who died from pancreatic cancer in December 2015, and next year, the 501(c)(3) organization would like to change their focus and donate to someone in Bucks County. If you know anyone in the Bucks County area suffering from a serious medical condition and who needs financial help, e-mail info@rarftc.com or call 215.346.7303 Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. For more info, go to rartfc.com… Gotham Motorcycles, New York City’s only Indian/Victory/Slingshot dealership, celebrated its one-year anniversary with a party at their Staten Island location. Several hundred people attended to enjoy great food and music by SINY Deejays. Gotham owner Mark Crescitelli invited The Sopranos star Tony Sirico a.k.a. Paulie Walnuts who drew the winner of a new Kymco scooter from almost 10,000 entries. Congrats to winner Kevin McVicar, and to the dealership for a successful first year!… ABATE of PA held its annual Rights Rally, this year working towards the passage of HB 852 known as Daniel’s Law, a bill to increase penalties for distracted driving that result in severe injury or death. The bill was named after Daniel Gallatin, a motorcycle rider that was killed by a woman who was texting and driving… Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead partied with hundreds of sailors and Playboy playmates during Fleet Week in New York City, making a grand entrance at a Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum event at Pier 84, riding a custom ’94 FXR designed by LA Speed Shop. His new TV show, Ride with Norman Reedus, portrays him exploring biker culture as well as the best mechanics, craftsmen and collectors as he rides around the country. The first few episodes have already aired on AMC, and might actually be pretty good. I think I’ll check it out, and you might want to, as well.
