Cardo’s new Packtalk Pro is the most advanced communicator yet. Not only does it allow speaking to your buddies while riding or take phone calls and stream music to your ears through 45mm JBL speakers, the system also has a new trick: An IMU that enables built-in crash detection that can send an emergency notice in the event of a crash, as well as automatically turn the unit on and off.
This new comms device uses Gen 2 Dynamic Mesh that can pair several riders on a single Bluetooth channel, and Cardo’s updated Natural Voice software allows riders to speak instructions through the microphone to operate the unit without pushing buttons. Unlike lesser comm systems, the Packtalk is fully waterproof up to a depth of three feet, and the rechargeable battery can last up to 13 hours. It retails for $459.
