In terms of V-Twin racebikes, no machine can top the iconic status of the Harley-Davidson XR750, which earned 29 AMA Grand National Championships from 1972 to 2008. It gained notoriety with titles won by racers Cal Rayborn, Mark Brelsford, Jay Springsteen, and Chris Carr, as well as with legendary stunt performer Evel Knievel.

Harley-Davidson introduced the XR750 in 1969, and their current values have stretched almost to the priceless category. But for a $200 entry fee, you can enter a raffle to win the bike seen here, an XR that had earned podium finishes in the 2010s and has been fully rebuilt into running condition.

The XR750 emerged in 1969 with a hot-rodded Ironhead Sportster engine, selling at dealers for only $3,200. It had only modest success until its engine was redesigned for 1972 with an all-aluminum head and cylinder package, with a bigger bore and shorter stroke for the same 750cc displacement. From that point, the XR750 would go on to become the most dominating racebike in dirt-track history.

The XR up for raffle comes with a racing pedigree, having earned podium finishes for the Lloyd Brothers Motorsports team in the hands of Henry Wiles and Jake Johnson. In 2013, Wiles rode it to 3rd place at the Stockton Half-Mile, while Johnson raced it in 2014 to 3rd place at the Calistoga Half-Mile and 2nd place at the Pomona Half-Mile. The Pomona race was the bike’s last, coinciding with the final national event held at Pomona.

This XR was previously owned by Terry Otten of Ramspur Winery and most recently was under the stewardship of 2013 AFT champ Brad Baker. The bike was rebuilt by Brent Armbruster and upgraded to pristine condition at Tim Estenson’s facility. Its engine was rebuilt by Mike Stauffer at Stauffer Motors after the Pomona race podium, and it currently has only a few heat cycles under its belt.

Your chance to own a piece of racing history comes with a $200 donation to Back On Track, which provides financial assistance for injured motorcycle racers and their families when a racing injury occurs.
