The world’s largest one-day motorcycle fundraiser, the Love Ride, will begin a new set of traditions on Saturday, October 25. For starters, the 31st iteration will take place on a Saturday instead of the usual Sunday, and Southern California Harley-Davidson Dealers Association President Mark Ruffalo is offering riders the option to report to any of the SoCal Harley-Davidson dealerships to join rides departing for Castaic Lake.

Participants can preregister before September 2 at www.loveride.org and qualify for the $40 discounted admission fee. On September 2 that price goes up to $50, and day-of admission will be $60 at the gate. The admission price includes all-day access to the lake, parking and an opportunity ticket, which will give the holder the chance to win several prizes including a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide, a Harley-Davidson Museum tour for two with airfare and hotel, a Jay Leno garage tour and other exciting prizes.

Those who preregister at the $40 and $50 levels will also receive a Love Ride 31 commemorative pin and patch. Extended hours this year will have the gates at the lake opening at 9:00 a.m. and closing at 5:00 p.m., and Jay Leno will share Grand Marshal duties with Robbie Krieger of The Doors. Don’t forget the Pre-Love Ride Party on Friday evening, October 24, where Peter Fonda will host a screening of Easy Rider and a bike show at a venue to be announced.
