For the 2023 Sturgis Rally, the Buffalo Chip is welcoming a different kind of chopper than what you might be used to seeing at Sturgis. For the first year, the Black Hills Helicopter Rally presented by Bell Flight will have Bell helicopter owners flying in to join the Sturgis party.
“Bell is always looking at ways to provide customers, operators, and enthusiasts with unique experiences through flight and event activation,” said Lane Evans, managing director, North America. “With more than 500,000 people from around the world participating every year in Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Bell is thrilled to host the first-ever Helicopter Rally for enthusiasts and operators at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip.”
In addition to private owners flying in their own choppers, Bell will also exhibit and provide demonstration flights in the Bell 407GXi and Bell 429 from the Buffalo Chip venue. At the rally, Bell will also auction off a custom Indian motorcycle built by Lloyd’z Garage in support of the Buffalo Chip Legends Ride, an event that benefits South Dakota Special Olympics – Rapid City Flame.
Bell owners and their passengers who fly in to participate in the Black Hills Helicopter Rally will enjoy Sturgis Buffalo Chip VIP access to concerts and other premium entertainment and events going down at the Chip, as well as getting the chance to connect with other Bell owners and enthusiasts.
The 2023 Sturgis Rally is set for August 4-13, and as always, there will be plenty to do and see. The Chip is continuing to announce performers and entertainment as the rally draws closer, but we already know we’ll see performances by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Whiskey Myers, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, and Koe Wetzel.
We’re excited to see the Sturgis rally expanding with the addition of the Helicopter Rally, and we hope to see you there! Visit Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s website for more information.
