THUNDER PRESS reader Shawn Sexton would like to spread the word about Philadelphia Cycle Storage, a new business he opened in recently. Philadelphia Cycle Storage, a new concept for this area, is a do-it-yourself maintenance and storage garage that’s equipped with four pro K&L lifts with shop tools and a tire changer. He tells me there is also a bar and a lounge with free WiFi. Riders can either drop in and do routine maintenance for $20 an hour or do bigger projects at $100 a day or $200 a month. Memberships are available at $30 per month which gives you one hour free and after that, greatly reduced rates on garage and equipment usage. Membership also includes two weeks of “vacation” storage (for those who normally store their bikes outdoors), branded T-shirt, rides and events, free classes and workshops, free pickup and delivery and a guaranteed spot for winter storage. They’ve also teamed up with the Philly chapter of the Litas for moto-socials and wrench nights. Their website isn’t up yet, but you can check out Facebook or Instagram, email Shawn at phillycyclestorage@gmail.com or just stop by 5400 Eadon St. Unit W6, Philadelphia, PA19137. Good luck with your new business, Shawn. I think it’s a great idea… You may have heard about Adam Sandoval and Scooter, his Chihuahua, who have been on the road since 2014, riding to every Harley-Davidson dealer in the country to raise money and awareness for veterans’ causes. On July 2, while they were on their way to Pittsburgh, a woman crossed the center line and hit Adam’s bike, causing a terrible wreck. Adam was life flighted to a Pittsburgh hospital with serious injuries, including a broken leg. Scooter was not hurt and the two were reunited the next day after Adam got out of surgery. His bike was in even worse shape, but Scott Fischer of Scott Fischer Enterprises has pledged to do whatever it takes to get the “Warhorse” back on the road. The bike has already been shipped back to one of his dealerships, Six Bends Harley-Davidson in Naples, Florida. Adam and Scooter will restart the tour September 3, with plans to visit the 100 remaining dealerships in time to go get back to Six Bends H-D for his homecoming celebration October 7–8… The American Police Motorcycle Museum in Meredith, New Hampshire, has temporarily closed its doors as of July 18. Founder and proprietor Doug Frederick hopes to have a new location in time for the 2017 New England riding season. Keep checking americanpolicemotorcyclemuseum.com for new information… Rommel Harley-Davidson Annapolis, Maryland, partnered with Porsche of Annapolis to hold the inaugural Antique Motorcycle and Porsche Show, called “What a Honey!” on June 25. Over 50 antique vehicles came out on a beautiful day. Annapolis H.O.G. provided the food, Moveable Mixtures supplied the drinks and The Nighthawks provided the music. Sam Gibson won the People’s Choice award with his 1946 Knucklehead and the runner up was Mike “Wuss” Mueller with his ’48 FL… On July 9, the Bennington International Motorcycle Club held its third annual Bike Nite in the parking lot behind Bennington Station Restaurant in Bennington, Vermont. After a bike blessing, a bike show, DJ music and a Chinese auction took place to benefit the Cancer Crusaders.
