The Buell Super Cruiser, first shown in prototype form in early 2023, has now entered production, marking an important moment for Buell Motorcycle Co. The high-power cruiser’s final specifications are now available, and customers with preorders will be contacted in the next two to four months.

We tested a prototype of the Super Cruiser and were greatly impressed, hoping the production version would not change too much from the prototype. “There is simply no other production cruiser that delivers performance at this high level,” wrote reviewer Kevin Duke. Luckily, the production version appears to be very similar to the prototype, aside from a few small changes.
Powering the Super Cruiser is a liquid-cooled 72.6ci (1,190cc) V-Twin with a compression ratio of 13.4:1. It produces a claimed 175 hp, and peak torque of 94 lb-ft arrives at 8,500 rpm. The frame is made of steel tube, and the subframe is aluminum. Replacing the prototype’s Öhlins suspension will be Fox components, an inverted fork and a single shock without linkage. Replacing the prototype’s perimeter brake discs will be Brembo braking components, including dual 4-piston monoblock front calipers pinching a 320mm disc and a 2-piston rear caliper paired with a 220mm disc.
The seat height is also increased from the prototype, up from 30.5 to 32 inches. Claimed wet weight is down from 496 lb to 485 lb. The fuel tank holds 4.0 gallons. The bike will have 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels wrapped in Dunlop SportMax Q5A tires.
“These hand-built machines are a true blend of performance and art,” said Bill Melvin, CEO of Buell Motorcycle Co. “We’re proud of the talented team whose dedication and craftsmanship transformed the Super Cruiser from a bold concept into a production motorcycle.”
The first production Super Cruiser, with VIN 0001, was completed on Sept. 26, 2025, and it’ll be on display at Barber Motorsports Museum during Barber Vintage Festival, Oct. 3-5. After the festival, the bike will be donated to the museum.
“We’ve chosen a deliberate path of ramping up production slow and steady to ensure every machine lives up to its promise and every rider feels that unmistakable Buell connection the moment they twist the throttle,” said Jason Anderson, manufacturing and quality director at Buell Motorcycle Co.
The Buell Super Cruiser will have an MSRP of $25,900. Visit the Buell Motorcycle Co. website to place your order and find more information.
