On the 9th Day of Christmas My True Love Gave to Me…Feuling Parts Milwaukee Eight Camshaft
Harley-Davidson’s Milwaukee Eight engine is a decent mid-range and bottom-end performer in stock form, shoving about 80 horsepower and 100 pound-feet of torque to the rear tire. But Feuling’s new 472 Reaper camshaft for the M8 ups the ante with what the company calls ‘substantial gains above 2800 rpm’ when compared with stock.
Feuling adds that a 472-cammed engine responds very well to increased bore and/or compression, exhaust replacement and air-cleaner improvements. Performance valve springs are not necessary with the 472, though using them may result in quieter and smoother valve-train performance.
We’re hearing rumors that Santa is quite jealous of the Feuling folks for out-powering his 998-reindeerpower sled, and is considering putting the Feuling team on the ‘naughty’ list! Absolute power corrupts absolutely, right? Go, Feuling!
