The Steel Horse Rally will return to Fort Smith, Arkansas, this year, May 3-4, with a schedule full of exciting events and opportunities. Check out the Bikes and Badges Vintage Motorcycle Show, produced in partnership with the United States Marshals Museum, and enjoy the Steel Horse Strongman Show. Other events to catch are the Cops and Cones Motorcycle Exhibition and the Thunder Through the Valley Motorcycle Parade.

While in Fort Smith, purchase a Steel Horse Rally Charity Cup for $5 at any participating business, and all proceeds will be donated to three of the chosen charities. Attendees who want to get the most out of the event can get a Very Important Biker pass ($99 minimum donation) to gain access to exclusive events and perks.

The Steel Horse Rally

The 2024 Steel Horse Rally roars back into downtown Fort Smith, Ark. on May 3-4, 2024. The rally continues to grow, and 2023 was the largest year ever, with an attendance of more than 210,000 with a local economic impact of more than $25 Million. The charity motorcycle event “honors all who serve” and continues to help local charities and the community.

Steel Horse Rally Bikes and Badges Vintage Motorcycle Show

The SHR has partnered with the United States Marshals Museum for an exciting new event for the 2024 rally: The Steel Horse Rally Bikes and Badges vintage motorcycle show will make its debut Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the US Marshals Museum, 789 Riverfront Drive in Fort Smith, Ark. This new event is sponsored exclusively by Fort Smith Harley-Davidson; Thanks to Fort Smith Harley-Davidson’s commitment to the SHR, admission is free to the U.S. Marshals Museum on Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Additionally, there will be no entry fee for motorcycles entered into the SHR Bikes and Badges vintage motorcycle show. This show is open to all motorcycles that are 25 years old or older. The Bikes and Badges entry form and more information is available at the US Marshals Museum website.

Be sure and stop by Bikes and Badges from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 and cast your vote for your favorite vintage motorcycle. The People’s Choice Award winner will be announced Saturday, May 4 after the Thunder through the Valley Motorcycle Parade from the Steel Horse Rally Main Entertainment Stage at the corner of 6th Street and Garrison Ave. All participants of the SHR Bikes and Badges vintage motorcycle show will be invited to ride near the front of the motorcycle parade that stages at 3 p.m. at Riverfront Park at 121 Riverfront Drive and begins at 4 p.m.

Ben Johnson, president and CEO of the United States Marshals Museum, said that he is very excited about the partnership with the Steel Horse Rally and the new event.

“Nothing brings people together from all walks of life like old motorcycles,” Johnson said. “This will be a tremendous partnership that we can’t wait to kick off in 2024.”

SHR Charities

The SHR continues to help and support local charities. The 2024 SHR official charities are the Fort Smith Boys & Girls Clubs, the Buddy Smith Home for Veterans, and Arc for the River Valley. During the rally, when you get the Official 2024 Steel Horse Rally Charity Cup, 100 percent of the donations will go to these three charities. The Charity Cups will be available for a minimum charitable donation of $5 at participating businesses in downtown Fort Smith as well as the Steel Horse Rally Handle Bar located at 6th and Garrison. The SHR Charity Cup and armband will allow those 21 or older to walk through the entire rally and downtown Entertainment District with an adult beverage.

Other Steel Horse Rally Events

The 2024 SHR will see the return of several crowd favorites including the Cops and Cones Motorcycle Exhibition and the Thunder through the Valley Motorcycle Parade. The 2024 Cops and Cones, hosted by the Fort Smith Police Department, will be Saturday, May 4, starting at 10 a.m. at Garrison Ave. & 12th Street. This year, the Steel Horse Strongman Showdown will be Saturday, May 4 in a new location at the Glass Pavilion at 100 North B Street. This event features professional and amateur men and women athletes lifting tremendous amounts of weight. This is an officially sanctioned event, and athletes can advance to Regional Strongman Competitions with a win at this event.

Live Music

The 2024 SHR will feature great live music and entertainment from the Steel Horse Rally Stage located in the parking lot across from First National Bank, at the corner of 6th and Garrison Ave. The Steel Horse Handle Bar will be located near the stage along with the Very Important Biker Area right in front of the stage. For the ultimate experience of the 2024 SHR, VIB (Very Important Biker) packages will be available soon for a charitable donation on the official Steel Horse Rally webpage. The VIB package includes a new event, the Inaugural Steel Horse Rally VIB Treat & Greet. Additionally, VIBs will receive premium seating for the entertainment and Miss Steel Horse Rally Bikini Contest on the Steel Horse Rally Main Stage at the corner of 6th St. and Garrison Ave. VIBs will also be able to reserve the official 2024 SHR T-shirt and a 2024 commemorative bag filled with goodies.

There will also be 70-plus vendors in three vendor areas along Garrison Avenue that will open starting at noon on Friday, May 3. Motorcycle riders can also park their bikes in the middle of Garrison Avenue, one of the widest downtown streets in the USA, starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, and 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 4. Also, riders can support the Steel Horse Rally Inc. charity by riding in the Public Guardians Poker Run on Friday, May 3 and the Law Enforcement Fun Run on Saturday, May 4.
