Welcome Royal Enfield to the Family of Chip Brands
The Buffalo Chip welcomes one of motorcycling’s most historic brands. Royal Enfield started in 1901 and currently builds a broad line of classic- and adventure-styled motorcycles. Custom builder Roland Sands will feature a Royal Enfield Meteor 650 build in our Motorcycles as Art display, and the company will have a few other surprises along the way. Royal Enfield is also the sponsor of the new Buffalo Chip EMT-1 first responder units for our staff featuring their Scram 411 models.
On the Road: MotoDoffo Winery Visit
In case you missed it, we recently announced our partnership with MotoDoffo Wines, a division of family-owned Doffo Winery located in Temecula, CA, as our official wine provider. This marks the first-ever partnership of its kind and will bring the wine tasting experience to the thousands of fans we can’t wait to see at The Chip.
Sturgis Buffalo Chip President Rod Woodruff recently made a special visit to the Doffo Winery to see the family-run operation, learn about the winemaking process, and of course, drink some delicious wine.
In addition to providing signature wines through the event, keep an eye out for winery founder Marcelo Doffo, his daughters Samantha and Brigitte and son Damian, who will be participating in the Legends Ride and Biker Belles, and will also be sharing tastings at its Motorcycles as Art Exhibit and the Industry Party!
Black Hills Motorcycle Show
The industry knows that we support many custom motorcycle shows during the rally, but our passion for being around cool customs led us to develop the “Spirit of Sturgis” award and participate in customs shows all over the region. Well, when our close friend and neighbor Jason Mook of Deadwood Custom Cycles decided to run the Black Hills Motorcycle Show, we committed to be part of it right off the bat. Over 100 custom motorcycles filled the Deadwood Mountain Grand, with notable appearances by custom builders from around the US.
The show also featured classes for garage builders and the hardcore enthusiasts who populate our world. The show was a great display of community and family of all sorts, and it honored a beautiful Memorial Day weekend.
Woody selected a beautiful Indian Vintage loaded with custom touches for the Spirit of Sturgis Award. Unbeknownst to him, the bike belonged to Justin Engel who runs with Sturgis Indian Motorcycle Riders club – truly the Spirit of Sturgis!
The next stop for the Spirit of Sturgis Award is the MotoBlot show in Chicago on the weekend of June 23-25.
